Yesterday I had so much fun with my Cool Cats, we studied letter B and the words that start with the letter. I don't know who lovd it more: me or them :) seeing their happy faces means the world to me! We also made some cards showing how old we are : And today we did a similar card with my 4 and a half (he loves pointing that out) year old Toprak :)

In the morning the servis bus that I take to school also picks up this cute 5 year old. So sometimes the kid has the separation problem, he cries and doesn't want to go to school, but other days like today he's all grown up and cool :) So after the school day was over and we met in the bus again. I asked him: 'How are you, Kerem?' You know what he said?
'I wov u'... Today was the last day of school. It was both a happy and a sad day.... Why sad? Because I'll miss my smart, naughty, funny, loving kids...
We played a hangman game... They were trying to guess a word. At some point we had this on the board: -ate-me--- They laughed hard when they realized it makes a phrase!!! It is such a joy to laugh with them and share their happy childhood... Feels as if mine is back too and I'm just a schoolgirl, just one of them.. We all deserved this vacation, but I'll sure miss them!! PS Can you guess the word? Today we went on a school trip with the author of Beyoğlu Macerası, Sara Şahinkanat. The kids read the book and now had a chance to walk down İstiklal Street and visit all the places mentioned in the book. I enjoyed enormously this amusing, fun trip with kids (their eyes shiniging) shouting: BILGI AVCILARI! (means Knowledge Hunters) We also visited the Mevlana Museum where on Sundays one can see Mevlana dancers... Guess what was one of the questions that the kid asked? 'Why there are flies?' See? One can never know what the children may come up with. :) The most unique place that I remember was a restaurant where they make 70 different eggplant dishes! I should definitely go there and taste some! Today I went to the Storytelling Conference at İhlas College and among other amazing things saw this amazing Sand Artist Veysel Çelikdemir who simply took my breath away!
You know how sometimes kids say something funny when you're trying to be angry with them? So, I'm having this lesson the other day and suddenly one kid repeats what I say and adds: 'Zavallı kadıncaz'... Everybody went quiet because they thought I'd be angry but I just tried hard to supress my smile! Last week we went to a hospital with a class for a dentist check up. Guess what one of my curious asked?
'Miss Marina how many times were you married?' :) Btw I never even told them that I'm married... Today one of the boys (7 year old) came up to me and asked: 'Miss Marina, what's wrong with you? Why do you sometimes wear glasses and sometimes don't?' What could I say to this? :))) Another time another 7 year old boy told be (It was right after Halloween): 'Miss Marina why did you scare me yesterday? (Wow did I?) I was very scared... I don't scare you, so you don't scare me either!'... While saying it he was whispering and made BIG EYES |
