Приятного аппетита! Priyatnogo Appetita!
Not many people know that Russian cuisine is quite rich with pastries and soups. So I decided to tell you what is our eating habits, what food we love and how we make it (for those who want to try it).
Мойте руки и садитесь за стол!
Wash your hands and sit at the table! My mom used to say that when our food was ready. We'd run as quick as we could cause the fresh smell of sirniki or kotletki (meatballs) would already make its way to our nostrils :)
Russian cuisine includes not only Russian salad 'Olivye' and Kotleti po-Kievski. We have our traditional soups, pastry (pirojki), our grannies have secret recipies of pickled vegetabls and jams and we even have our traditional cakes!
The recipies that I use are on http://www.good-cook.ru/
Since they are in Russian, I'm planning to translate some of them so that my English-speaking friends can also try them out!
