Happy Thanksgiving!
While in the USA it is mostly to celebrate the historical friendship between the nations, I think the idea of thanking our family and loved ones is a great one! Sometimes we take for granted what we have and only apprecıate it once we've lost it.
I believe we should remember to always cherish what we have and be greatful for it while we still have it.
I also believe that as a teacher, I need to tell my students about this tradition and ask them to relate it to their lives and think about the things that they have that they are thankful for.
Here are some ideas how to introduce Thanksgiving in an ESL classroom. :))
Finally Thanksgiving Day! We made Turkeys with my little ones and hung them on the door of the classroom. We also learned the Tommy Turkey song and 10 little Indians.
Fourth graders watched the story about Thanksgiving and drew their Turkey with thanks to the goods that they have. I haven'T had time to take photos of those yet, but I will soon!
Stay tuned!
